Kamen Rider Kabuto is the main protagonist and the leading Rider protagonist of Kamen Rider Kabuto of Kamen Rider Kabuto series. The story revolves around a man named Souji Tendou. He has trained his entire life while waiting for the Kabuto Zecter so that he may properly take up the name of Kamen Rider Kabuto. Making many enemies while at the same time meeting other Riders with mysterious origins of how they got there, Tendou attempts to accomplish his goal at all costs: destroying all Worms that otherwise threaten humanity. He meets Arata Kagami, who later becomes Kamen Rider Gatack, the two work together to save humanity from the alien Worms that arrived from a meteorite seven years ago.

ZECT

ZECT is a mysterious organization that seemingly acts in order to destroy Worms. However, they seem to have very secret agenda and connections with Worms. This is shown in episode 41 as the Natives were the ones who founded ZECT and created the Masked Rider System to work with humans. The true head counsel of ZECT is a group of Native Worms.

Shuichi Tadokoro : Is a very stern man who commands numerous amounts of ZECT Trooper platoons. It is hinted at that he was once the mentor of the first TheBee, Sou Yaguruma. He was seriously injured when he tried to use the Gatack Zecter in order to save Kagami from being chosen.
Yuzuki Misaki : A technician and agent for ZECT, travels with Kagami in the field tracking the movements of the Worms. Later on, she is given the assignment to track Tendou and the stolen Kabuto Zecter. At first she is a "by-the-book" tough as nails character; however, she soon begins to question the actions of ZECT and eventually gains respect for Tendou after he rescues her from the Worms.
Sou Yaguruma : Is a former ZECT member who was the original user of the TheBee Zecter, who becomes Kamen Rider TheBee until it abandoned him and he was kicked out of ZECT. Since then, Yaguruma went insane, now fighting for his own agenda upon gaining his own Hopper Zecter, not caring about the well-being of other humans.
Shun Kageyama : Is a former ZECT member under Yaguruma who was the final user of the TheBee Zecter until he was kicked out of ZECT. Since then, Kageyama formed a partnership with his former leader after receiving his own Hopper Zecter from him and becoming Kamen Rider PunchHopper.
Riku Kagami : Arata Kagami and Ryo Kagami's father is a high-ranked official in ZECT, and serves as a figurehead to hide their connection to the natives. Arata seems to despise him because of Ryo's disappearance, as well as the lack of concern or activity done in order to find Ryo. Arata is also unaware that his father is even part of the organization, ZECT, let alone the leader.

Masked Rider System

Main Article : Zecters

Zecters also known as the Masked Rider System, are a compilation of mobile systems that affect space/time. They were created by the Natives, a species of Worm that arrived on Earth 35 years ago. These Natives in turn gave the Zecters to humans so that they may protect them from alien Worms that would arrive later. The Zecters appear instantaneously from the ZECT headquarters to the selected personnel so that they may transform into the respective Rider to fight any Worms in the vicinity.

ZECTroopers

Main Article : ZECTroopers

ZECTroopers are foot soldiers of the organization ZECT, they are armed with the Machine Gun Blade, a weapon that draws some concepts from Riderman's Machine Gun Arm and Power Arm. The weapon consists of an automatic machine gun with a retractable blade, which they use for close-quarters combat. In addition, they also carry a grenade launcher-like shotgun as a last resort and means of retreating, also they use flash bombs which disable Worms and seem to prevent them from molting.

Kabuto Riders:

Souji Tendou / Kamen Rider Kabuto : Is the Kabuto Zecter's wearer, is a mysterious, quiet 21-year old man who often seems to follow monk-like philosophies of peace. His name literally means "Heavenly path, rules over all" and he always uses it to introduce himself ("Walking the path of Heaven, the man who will rule over everything").
Arata Kagami / Kamen Rider Gatack : Is the son of ZECT's leader who works under ZECT for the betterment of humanity, unaware of ZECT's true agenda. He briefly used the TheBee Zecter and eventually becomes the user of the Gatack Zecter.
Sou Yaguruma / Kamen Rider KickHopper : Is a former ZECT member who was the original user of the TheBee Zecter, who becomes Kamen Rider TheBee until it abandoned him and he was kicked out of ZECT. Since then, Yaguruma went insane, now fighting for his own agenda upon gaining his own Hopper Zecter, not caring about the well-being of other humans.

Daisuke Kazama / Kamen Rider Drake : Is a metro-sexual make-up artist who openly befriends women, seeing them as the treasure of life. His partner, a little girl named Gon, always follows him around, completing sentences for him since Daisuke seems to be in eloquent at times. Prior to his first appearance, he accidentally found the means to become Kamen Rider Drake.
Tsurugi Kamishiro / Kamen Rider Sasword : Is a descendant of the Discabil family of England. However, the real Tsurugi Kamishiro is actually killed by Scorpio Worm, and the person living as him and wielding the Sasword Zecter is merely Scorpio Worm, the very Worm that murdered Tsurugi and his sister a year ago when they were having a picnic in a garden and completely overtaken by former's memories.
Souji Kusakabe / Kamen Rider Dark Kabuto : Is a Native who uses the Dark Kabuto Zecter, this mimic version of Tendou was actually a human infant that was captured by Mishima and used for his experiments after being turned into a Native.

History

Kamen Rider Kabuto : God Speed Love

Souji Tendou grew up as happy boy until his parents were killed by Worms that mimicked them. He was raised by his grandmother alongside Juka. When the Shibuya Incident occurs due to a Meteorite crashing onto Earth, drying up the Earth's ocean, Tendou attempts to reach out to his biological sister, Hiyori, but is unable to save her.

Kamen Rider Decade : All Riders Vs. Dai-Shocker

Kamen Rider Kabuto, Rider Form, appears in the final battle of the movie Kamen Rider Decade: All Riders vs. Dai-Shocker, alongside the other previous Riders rescuing Decade and facing Dai-Shocker's troops. During the large battle, Kabuto mostly fights alone, eventually defeating Longhorn Orphnoch, a Bakeneko, a Mole Imagin, a Ganikomol and a Shiomaneking while Kamen Rider 1, Kamen Rider 2, and Kamen Rider Black RX fight against Ambassador Hell in his Garagaranda form.

Kamen Rider Decade : The Destroyer of Worlds

Kamen Rider Kabuto, Rider form, appears in episode 31 of Kamen Rider Decade, as one of Wataru Kurenai's companions, who antagonize Decade after he failed in his mission of saving the worlds. In the special version of episode 31, Kabuto is one of the few Riders in the battlefield who isn't shown dying in the Rider War.

Kamen Rider OOO, Den-O, All Riders : Let's Go Kamen Riders

Kamen Rider Kabuto's Rider Form appears yet again in OOO, Den-O, All Riders: Let's Go Kamen Riders, fighting against Worms that allied themselves with Shocker and other Kamen Rider villains from the 40 years of the franchise. Although his human form isn't shown in the movie itself and he doesn't speak, Kabuto is confirmed to be Souji Tendou by the movie's official website.

Kamen Rider × Super Sentai : Super Hero Taisen

Kabuto is one of the Riders who answers what seemed like Kamen Rider 1's call and joins his force to attack the Super Sentai force led by Akaranger in order to preserve the existence of the Kamen Riders. Using his bike, the Kabuto Extender, alongside Double and Kiva, Kabuto attacks the Zyuranger and Megaranger. However, afterwards he attempts to engage Akaranger in combat only to be knocked down and seemingly destroyed by his next attack.

Kamen Rider × Super Sentai × Space Sheriff : Super Hero Taisen Z

Kamen Rider Kabuto, Rider form, arrives alongside the reinforcements brought by Kamen Rider 1 and Akaranger to the final battle against the Space Crime Syndicate Madou. Kabuto, alongside BoukenBlack, is shown heading towards a Dogormin to help GokaiGreen.

Kamen Rider Wizard

Kabuto appears with all the Heisei Riders from Kuuga to Fourze, led by Decade, in a special two-parter after the finale, The Kamen Rider Rings and Neverending Story. Kabuto first appears alongside Faiz, summoned to the world within the Magic Stone through their Rider Rings by the alternate young Haruto, to chase down a duo of Salis Worms sent by Amadum, the evil wizard who ruled that world. The Worms having taken the Rider Ring chest along with the prime Haruto.

Heisei Rider Vs. Showa Rider : Kamen Rider Taisen Feat. Super Sentai

Kabuto was seen flying in as a falling meteor and crashed into a building in Masked Form, switches to Rider Form, then confronts Stronger, and used Clock Up to his advantage to avoid two swings and a Den Punch, then assails him at light speeds, stopping when Stronger used an Electro Fire to halt Kabuto in his tracks.

Super Hero Taisen GP : Kamen Rider 3

Due to the timeline alteration caused by Shocker, Souji became one of the brainwashed Riders in that timeline, donning the name of Shocker Rider Kabuto. He later volunteered in a Kamen Rider Grand Prix. During the race, in a moment, he had to fight against Faiz, who was aiding Drive. Later on, he aided the other Riders to combat Shocker after he, and the other Riders, were released from being brainwashed by the revived Double Riders.

35th Masked Rider Anniversary File

Tendou is one of a group of five characters from Kabuto who appear hosting the 35th Masked Rider Anniversary File, a collection of five featurettes shown during episodes 23 through 27 of Kabuto, this segment acted as a look back to the Kamen Rider franchise and an early advertisement for the God Speed Love movie.

Kamen Rider Kabuto reappeared in Kamen Rider: Battride War II, summoned by Cinema along with the remaining Heisei Riders in order to create the "ultimate movie". Kabuto's stage was based of from Kamen Rider Kabuto: God Speed Love, with Kamen Rider Caucasus as his main enemy.

In a stage show where the Boukengers are seen fighting their usual foes, a Worm and Kamen Rider TheBee show up and wind up defeating them. Kamen Rider Kabuto and Gatack, in Rider form, arrive and assist the Boukengers.

In a stage show where Kamen Rider Kabuto & Kamen Rider Gatack in Rider Form are fighting Worms, Kamen Rider Ichigo, Kamen Rider Nigo, Kamen Rider V3, Riderman, Kamen Rider X, Kamen Rider Amazon, & Kamen Rider Stronger arrive and assist Kamen Rider Kabuto & Gatack.

The Kabuto Zecter allows Souji Tendou to transform into Kamen Rider Kabuto. As with all of the Zecters, Kabuto has two basic forms that he can transform into.

In most of his appearances in Kamen Rider Decade, Souji used Kabuto's Rider Form. In Rider Form, Kabuto has access to the Clock Up System, which allows the user to travel at near light speeds to match the Worm's speedy metabolism. To destroy Worms, Kabuto has the Kabuto Kunai Gun, a versatile weapon that can be used as a gun, an axe, or a kunai, all of which allow him to perform the Rider Beat, or his roundhouse Rider Kick.
