Kamen Rider Ex-Aid

Kamen Rider Ex-Aid known as Emu Hōjō is an intern in the Pediatrics Department at Seito University Hospital and a genius video gamer who goes by the alias "M". Emu was inspired to practice medicine after a doctor, the future minister of health Kyotaro Hinata saved his life from illness when he was a child. Kyotaro also gave him a WonderSwan handheld video game console as a reward that ignited Emu's interest in video games. Recently, a video game company known as the Genm Corporation, or Genm Corp for short, has become aware of the existence of the Bugsters, a form of computer virus that spawns from their company's software bugs.

Seito University Hospital

Seito University Hospital is a prestigious medical facility. The Cyberbrain Room, or CR for short, is secretly located in the basement of the hospital. It operates under the authority of the Ministry of Health and is used for isolating and rescuing Bugster Virus victims. It was founded five years ago during Zero Day before the Bugster infection was made public in the present.

Genm Corporation

Genm Corporation is a game company which provides the technologies of producing the Gamer Driver and the Rider Gashats. Genm Corp. was founded by Masamune's son, Kuroto, was involved in the discovery of the Bugster Virus, and the special surgery on Emu Hojo. After Emu's surgery, Kuroto had been planning to compromise Genm Corp. by observing Emu for 10 years until 2010.

Next Genome Institute

Next Genome Institute is an institute which conducted groundbreaking and innovative research on genomes called the Genome Project. They appear in Kamen Rider Heisei Generations: Dr. Pac-Man vs. Ex-Aid & Ghost with Legend Rider as the main antagonist and are led by Michihiko Zaizen. After disappearing from public view for six years because of their reckless experiments on Emu for their own Bugster projects, which is a set up by their contractor Kuroto Dan, the organization reappears and proceed to steal technologies from Genm Corp.

Ex-Aid Riders:

Emu Hojo / Kamen Rider Ex-Aid : Also known by his gaming tag of "M", is a 24-year-old pediatrics intern and later, a surgical intern and master gamer who was inspired to become a doctor after receiving a special life-saving surgery from Kyotaro Hinata as a child. He also gave Emu a WonderSwan handheld console as a present which ignited his interest in gaming. He is friendly and well-meaning.
Asuna Karino / Poppy Pipopapo / Kamen Rider Poppi : is a personnel of the Ministry of Health sent to CR as a nurse, acting as the Kamen Riders' navigators and guides. "Asuna" is a guise for her true identity as a Bugster named Poppy Pipopapo, based on a video game character from DoReMiFa Beat.
Hiiro Kagami / Kamen Rider Brave : Is a 24-year-old genius surgeon who has recently returned from working at a first class hospital in America. He is described as a tsundere with a liking for sweets due to the influence from his late girlfriend, Saki Momose. He has two loyal assistants named Mizuki Mizoguchi and Satsuki Ōgimachi who are also nurses at Seito University Hospital.
Kiriya Kujō / Kamen Rider Lazer : Is a 27-year-old medical examiner investigating the Bugstars incidents. He is investigating the incidents out of his own curiosity about the Bugsters, not because he wants to help people. He is also quite cunning, such as lying to Emu about the reason he fights in order to gain sympathy from him. It turns out, however, that he actually did lose his friend named Jungo Aihara during Zero Day while researching about the source where the Bugsters come from.
Taiga Hanaya / Kamen Rider Snipe : Is a 29-year-old unlicensed radiologist, the oldest of the main Riders, who is known as the "dark doctor". Five years ago, he was a genius radiologist in Seito University Hospital's radiology department who was chosen to be a Kamen Rider for CR after detecting the Bugster Viruses in one of his patients via conventional methods.
Kuroto Dan / Kamen Rider Genm : Is the 30-year-old CEO of Genm Corp., inheriting the company after framing his father for his own crime, unaware that it is actually a set up by his father who purposely attempt to use Kuroto for his own personal gain and let Kuroto framed him.
Masamune Dan / Kamen Rider Chronos : Is the original CEO of Genm Corp and the father of Kuroto Dan. He was imprisoned after being used as his son's scapegoat for the mastermind of Zero Day. He and his son had volunteered on Kyotaro Hinata's past surgery on Emu, and his son had first discovering the Bugster Viruses on his computer 16 years ago.
Parado / Kamen Rider Para-DX : Is one of the leaders of the Bugsters who takes the appearance of a teenager with pixel-themed pants. Lacking his own game correspondence, he is a manifestation of Emu's desire from his childhood to have a playmate. Although protective of his race, his true agenda is to enjoy fighting Emu due to the original purpose of his existence while hating humanity for being a prideful race.
Nico Saiba / Ride-Player Nico : Is a professional gamer and supporting character in Kamen Rider Ex-Aid. Originally approaching Taiga Hanaya for her vendetta against "Genius Gamer M", Nico eventually becomes Taiga's assistant in handling the Bugster crisis.

Haima Kagami : Is the director of the hospital and Hiiro's father who is also in charge of CR. During the Kamen Rider Chronicle incident, shortly prior Masamune Dan is released from prison and recently becomes Kamen Rider Cronus, Haima also became one of the Ride-Players without his son knowing, wanting to revive Saki for Hiiro's sake.
Kyotaro Hinata : Is the Deputy Director-General of the Ministry of Health and a former doctor. 16 years ago, he was the one who saved Emu by performing a life saving surgery on him. It is hinted that the surgery he performed might have something to do with Emu's current compatibility with the Gamer Driver.
Tsukuru Koboshi : Is a video game developer who works for Genm Corp. as one of the developers of the Rider Gashats, which he had worked on for five years along with the rest of the Genm Corp. development team for the project. After the sudden disappearance of his boss Kuroto Dan, Tsukuru tried to keep the company afloat after a lack of leadership caused Genm Corp.
Kagenari Nagumo / Kamen Rider Fuma : Is the father of Madoka Hoshi and husband of Akemi Hoshi, who cooperates with Machina Vision to transfer humans into virtual reality to save his heavily ill daughter.

Goriders:

Goriders is a Sentai Team consisting of Kamen Riders, a hybrid of the two superhero legacies. They appear in Kamen Rider × Super Sentai : Chou Super Hero Taisen and later, Kamen Sentai Gorider. These are the teams who have fought for the title of Goriders in the Chou Super Hero Taisen tournament.

Bugsters:

Bugsters are micro-sized computer viruses known as Bugster Viruses that aim to destroy humanity in order to rule the world. Their true origin dated back to the Year 2000 problem where all computers faced the same problem upon entering the year 2000. Kuroto was the first person to discover the virus in his laptop. In 2011, Kuroto initiated Zero Day by spreading the virus and then framing his father Masamune Dan for the crime, allowing him to rise to the position of Genm Corp.'s CEO.

Ex-Aid's default super deformed form, activated by inserting the Mighty Action X Gashat into the Gamer Driver. This form is used to battle a Bugster-infected human and is the only way to extract the monster from the host. In this form, Ex-Aid can generate platforms to jump onto, allowing him to traverse difficult to reach areas.
This form is stronger than Ex-Aid's Level 2 form, possessing exactly 2 more tons of Punching Power and 1.3 tons more Kicking Power, however it is less agile. When Ex-Aid used the Christmas Energy Item, Action Gamer Level 1 becomes a Christmas version of this form. In this form, he has Santa's beard and hat, a red and white cape, and red slipper boots.
